A Little Bit of History

The Bavarian theme that Leavenworth is now famous for was inspired in the 1960's. Project LIFE(Leavenworth Improvement
For Everyone) was formed to revitalize what was becoming a ghost town after railroad routes were re-routed to Wenatchee
in the 1920's and the sawmill was closed. Leavenworth has flourished, and is now a destination for people from all over.
